A week in the sun

We had a wonderful week last week. The temps were in the 70's and the sky was blue as far as the eye could see. Now we are back below freezing, but it was a nice taste of summer.

Madeline and I spent a lot of time outside. It was the first time she's really been out for a long period of time, so it was a week of firsts for her.

She hung out by the garden while we cleaned it out. For some reason we didn't get to it this fall!

She liked helping and playing in eating the dirt. I foresee this being a fun and stomach-filling summer.

Then we moved on to the backyard to clean up pine needles and doggie doo-doo. Madeline squirmed off the blanket (after the yard was cleaned of course). She LOVED touching the pine needles.

And she wanted to eat them.

 Not so good.

I love this picture.

One day after I got off work, Madeline and I went into town to the play ground. First time on a swing!

I think it was a winner. But I realized we needed a sun hat!

After a walk to the thrift store, hat on head, we went to a nearby cafe to wait to Andy to get off work for dinner. Madeline REALLY wanted to grab eat my phone.

It was a fun game.

And on Friday, the last and warmest day of our March-Summer, we sat in the front yard and played with the grass already creeping up from the thatch.

It was a great week. We can't wait to finally wake up from this winter and welcome summer back for good!
