7 Month Madeline

It's official, Madeline is getting older every day! She is moving, shaking, and loving every minute of it. I'll try to post some videos soon as proof, but for now check out these stats:

Special talents
Making raspberry noises, hitting your head and not crying, making strangers smile and laugh at you, being persistent

Crying
I’m pretty sure you cry when your mom and dad aren’t around, but other than that you only cry when you wake up in the middle of the night. And when you spend the entire day in the car (I don’t blame you one bit).

Sleep
The same as last month. Several small naps during the day and long stretches at night—about 4-5 hours at a time. You’re not a fantastic sleeper, but we’ll take it!

Dislikes
Not getting your way, which includes, but is not limited to, the animals walking away from you, us taking a “toy” away from you (like a dog bone or piece of plastic), putting your pajamas on, and not putting food in your mouth fast enough.

Likes
Sweet potatoes, when Dada comes home from work, dogs of all kinds, peek-a-boo, reading books, the book Peak-A-Moo, people singing

Firsts
Crawling
Pulling up to your knees
A car ride to Ohio
Saying “mama,” but I don't think you don’t know what it means

Thanks for making our life so lovey Madeline.

Oh look how she grows, that little girl of ours...

1/2 a Year

Six months already! No way...it's been a great 6 months though. Madeline has grown so much. I can't WAIT to see what she'll look like and what she does in another 6 months.

Length
Birth: 20 inches
Now:27 inches

Weight
Birth: 7 pounds 13 ounces
Now: 23 pounds 6 ounces

Special talents
Waking up at 5am on the dot; being happy most of the time; making your parents smile; grabbing things out of our hands; putting your feet  (and everything else) in your mouth; looking down and smiling when someone says hi

Crying
Now that you go to a babysitter during the day, you cry once I leave. You also cry when men you don’t know say hi to you if mama is not with you.

 Sleep
You were still waking up about 3 or 4 times a night, but we moved you to your room and now you put yourself back to sleep. You are still taking lots of short naps during the day, but every now and then one of them is long (2 hours!).

Dislikes
Not being able to put our food and drinks in your mouth
Not being able to go where you want to go—forward

Likes
Touching people’s faces and putting your hands their mouths
Grunting when you want something you don’t have
Music and people singing
Paper, yes, pieces of paper

 Firsts
Moving around, all around, but only backwards and turning to the side.
You got your first real terrible cold. It lasted a few weeks and we had to give you medicine though a nebulizer to help you breath better.
Saying “hi” and “mamamamamamama,” but only when they are mixed in with a lot of other sounds.
Sleeping in your own room over night without mama or dada
Taking a ride in a stroller
Going to a babysitter

What a great six months this has been!
